Belagavi: Top district authorities reviewed security and prevailing situation across the city on the penultimate day of the 11-day Ganesha festival in Belagavi city on Monday. More than 300 Ganesha idols installed at various public places will be taken out in a mammoth procession for immersion on Tuesday. The idols will be immersed in various lakes and wells in the city but most of the idols will be immersed at Kapileshwar tank in Shahpur. The procession will begin on Tuesday afternoon and the last idol at Kapileshwar tank is usually immersed after 24 hours as it thousands of people in the procession moves at a snail’s pace.DC Ziyaulla and Police Commissioner T G Krishna Bhatt took stock of all the installations in the city and arrangements made for the smooth movement of a procession. DCP Amarnath Reddy and several top officers of Belagavi were present.
