Belagavi: Despite the deadline of Ganesh festival set for completion of railway overbridge work at Goa Ves, the contractors have failed to accomplish the work. Upset over the delay, Belagavi MP Suresh Angadi has said, there is no sign of work getting completed now. However, officials of railway department assured MP at a meeting at CADA in Belagavi today that the bridge would be thrown open for public positively on November 20.

The traffic from Goa Ves circle has been halted for a long time after the work was launched at this busy spot a year ago. Taking the officials to task, Angadi forced officials to carry out work round the clock to ensure construction of the bridge as soon as possible. He said the new overbridge should not become a traffic bottleneck under any circumstances. According to officials, the bridge has been constructed in an effective way with enough space for vehicles and pedestrians. The bridge also have separate space for pedestrians. Corporation Commissioner Shashidhar Kurer and several top officials of Railway Department were present.
