Belagavi: The secretariat of Rural Development and Panchayat Raj Department, related to north Karnataka, consisting 13 districts will be shifted to Suvarna Vidhan Soudha and the decision of shifting of about 10 other departments would be taken at a meeting scheduled at Bengaluru on Tuesday.
Speaking to newspersons here on Monday, Rural Development and Panchayat Raj department minister KS Eshwarappa said even before the decision to be taken at Bengaluru on Tuesday he feels happy to announce shifting of his department. The unit of the secretariat looking after north Karnataka region will be shifted shortly to Soudha.
The intention of establishing the mega administrative structure would be fulfilled by shifting a few ministries here.”I feel happy that my department will be the first to be shifted. The government has pledged to wipe-off regional imbalance by shifting the departments to Suvarna Soudha”, he said.
