New Delhi: Water Resources Minister, Ramesh Jarkiholi has refuted the reports that he has sought Deputy Chief Minister’s post in Karnataka government. Jarkiholi who was in Delhi to meet the party leaders, said that he is neither aspirant for the post of DCM nor did he demanded for the post to the party leaders. “Giving any post of any MLA of the party is the discretion of the party leaders”, he asserted. Addressing media persons he said that he, along with C. P. Yegeshwar met BJP National President J. P. Nadda in Delhi to thank him for making Yegeshwar MLC. “We did not discuss any politics during our visit. Yegeshwar who is my friends, has now got justice, however giving Ministry to him is left to the party High Command”, Jarkiholi said.
Speaking about the flood situation in Belagavi, he claimed that the flood management this time is far better than the last time. He expressed confidence that this year there would not be any problem like last year. Referring to the incident of body of Covid suspect taken on bicycle, Jarkiholi said that he has directed the officials concerned to file case against it. “ It is unfortunate that the body was taken on bicycle”, he said. About removal of Sangolli Rayanna statue, he said that he too is a fan of Rayanna. Removal of the statue overnight is wrong. “The shifting would be done as per the law”, he said.
