Vijayapura: The speculation of differences prevailing between BJP MLA, Basanagouda Patil Yatnal and Chief Minister, B. S. Yediyurappa apparently surfaced during the flood review meeting on Wednesday. During the meeting which was chaired by Revenue Minister, R. Ashok, Yatnal, in a sarcastic manner, without mentioning the name, he said that the present Chief Minister (B. S. Yediyurappa) withdrew Rs. 127 crore granted to City Corporation for development. “In the name of Covid-19 pandemic, the Chief Minister cancelled the granting of Rs. 127 crore to City Corporation. Because of which, we are unable to take up development works”, he said. Not stopping there, Yatnal said that the funds were not even garneted by Yediyurappa but by the previous Chief Minister (H. D. Kumaraswamy).

This is for the first time after Yediyurappa becoming Chief Minister, Yatnal has given open remarks against the CM. After hearing, initially, Minister Ashok did not reply to it, but when Yatnal raised the matter again, the Minister, to end the issue there itself, said that he would check with the officials for the reason behind withdrawing of the amount. It may be noted that speculation are rife within the BJP circle that Yatnal has not been maintaining good relationship with Yediyurappa after the latter withdrew funds granted to city corporation. Since then Yatnal is upset with Yediyurappa and not meeting him for any work. Yatnal remained absent during the visit of Yediyurappa to Almatti on Tuesday for flood review and aerial survey. Interestingly, two Congress MLAs, Yeshwantraigoud Patil and Shivanand Patil attended the meeting.
